Timber! Outdoor Music Festival, happening July 26 and 27 in Carnation, WA, is a mini-festival out in the wilderness, off the beaten path, and tickets are selling out fast. There are so many draws to this event--bands, camping, hiking, mountain biking, stargazing with a UW astrophysics professor, optional swimming, multiple bonfires, and family-friendly accommodations. In fact, there's even a concert just for the kids on Saturday morning, after the Friday night madness. Oh, and the camping options are many--there will be an RV campground, yurts available to rent, and normal and quiet camping options, the later recommended for families bringing children.

KEXP suggests you check out Timber! Outdoor Music Festival. It's a little daunting at first, wrapping your brain around everything that's going to be packed into a few short days next weekend. You're gonna need some great info, so here's a great guide to all the activities happening at Timber!, here's a how-to guide for finding and enjoying the festival safely and appropriately, and here's an interview with its founder, Kevin Sur.

Musical performances will include The Helio Sequence, Lemolo, Bryan John Appleby, Kithkin, and a slew of others. Partnering with King County Parks, Timber! will be held in Tolt-MacDonald Park, on all of its glorious 540 acres. So come out on Friday at noon, immerse yourself in nature, music, community and awesomeness, and leave by noon Sunday, a changed person.
