La Luz’s Shana Cleveland at Capitol Hill Block Party

  • Seattle’s La Luz will be releasing their LP It’s Alive on Hardly Art this fall – and today they’ve released “Big Big Blood”. “You’re like me, no where to be”, croons Shana Cleveland – the track is so delightful in how it mixes old school riffs with bad girl bossiness.¬† [Pitchfork]

  • Sultry The WKND has released “Love in the Sky”, from his upcoming¬†Kiss Land. A distant guitar plays in the background while the heady track traverses territory from emotive to physical. Also check out the shorter video featuring a clip of the track. [Pitchfork]

  • San Diego’s Crocodiles have a new video that features some very heavy VHS glitching as well as a man-turned “Cockroach” (song title) with “Do the cuckold” written across his chest. While it could be self-deprecating the song ends empowered, “something I just don’t need” is the refrain and in the video the roach gets sent off to glitch heaven/oblivion.¬† [Stereogum]
  • Montreal’s Braids will release Flourish // Perish in August and today they have released “Hossak” – a delicate approaching-ambient experiment of a track. Fragile vocals recall the robotics of Bjork while a drone-y layered background fills in the rest. [Stereogum]
