  • of Montreal have shared a new track from their upcoming Lousy With Sylvianbriar album (out October 8). "She Ain't Speakin' Now" sounds like it's straight out of the 60s. It was written by frontman Kevin Barnes while his wife and daughter were ill and he was "pretty paranoid about catching what they had." That explains the "girl with the flu" lyrics. Warning: this song is contagious. [CoS]

  • Instrumental band Grails haven't dropped any new material since 2011's Deep Politics, but that changes today. Their new single "Self-Hypnosis" is part of an upcoming 12-song collection that will be released on October 15. The track will take you on a breathtaking eight minute journey of fierce highs and mellow lows. [Stereogum]

  • After some speculation last month, Phoenix have confirmed that they are indeed collaborating with R. Kelly. The remix will be of the Phoenix track "Trying To Be Cool" and there's no telling how R. Kelly will add his own flavor. This isn't the first time these two have worked together, at Coachella this year, R.Kelly joined the French rock band for an "Ignition/1901" mash-up. Check out that performance below. [Pitchfork]

  • Northwest native King Dude will embark on an American tour across the west this fall and he'll end up in Seattle on September 18 at Chop Suey. He's also dropping a 7" single which will include this pounding, new track, "Born In Blood." [Stereogum]

  • Due to Sonic Youth's current hiatus, guitarist Lee Ranaldo has formed his own band, Lee Ranadlo and The Dust. The band boasts members such as bassist Tim Lüntzel, composer Alan Licht, and Sonic Youth’s Steve Shelley. They will release their debut Last Night on Earth in October, but they have also shared the first track early. "Lecce, Leaving" is a percussion heavy, pop-rock song that still preserves some folk roots. [CoS]
