Parquet Courts

  • If you were listening to The Morning Show on KEXP the other morning, you already heard the worldwide debut of the new Parquet Courts EP, Tally All The Things That You Broke. If not, you can now stream it below, or just wait ‘til it comes out on What’s Your Rupture? Records next week on 10/8. [Stereogum]

  • The National made a brief guest appearance on the FOX TV show “The Mindy Project” last night, performing an acoustic version of “This Is the Last Time” during a marriage proposal scene. Hopefully with a much happier ending than when the drummer from Coldplay was on “Game of Thrones” (spoiler alert). Find out below. [Pitchfork]

  • We won’t get a new album from The Dead Weather until 2015, but Jack White’s Third Man Records has announced the supergroup will release a new 7″ single before the year ends with a sneak peek at two of the songs that’ll be on that release. If that’s not enough of a tease, you can listen to a 30-second snippet of one of those songs below. [Pitchfork]

  • Seattle’s own Blue Sky Black Death have shared a new track, bringing together Gucci Mane, Mack Shine, as well as past BSBD collaborators Deniro Farrar and Nacho Picasso. [Fader]
  • And finally, cuddly engineer Steve Albini met cuddly feline internet-sensation Lil’ Bub. You can watch the entire episode of “Lil Bub’s Big Show” next week on YouTube, but AV Club has a photo and a trailer to tide you over in the meanwhile. [AV Club]
