It's only a matter of time before Saint Rich, the musical brainchild of Steve Marion and Christian Peslak, becomes a household name. Beyond the Drone, their debut full-length album, was released earlier this month on Merge Records, and it'll blow you away. Before becoming a part of Saint Rich, Marion had been performing solo around New Jersey under the name Delicate Steve, but his music was purely instrumental. One weekend, after returning from a long tour, Marion was looking to get a group together for a jam session. Peslak showed up and the rest is history.

Peslak's smooth vocals act as the ideal binding for Marion's intense instrumental runs, and with his lanky stance and confidence, it was hard not to be reminded of another local boy, Julian Casablancas. In the earliest performance of their musical career so far, Saint Rich bewitched the audience from our CMJ broadcast.
