  • Black Lips are teaming up with Patrick Carney of the Black Keys for their ironically-titled seventh studio album Underneath the Rainbow, out March 18, 2014. The album features guest appearances from Mastodon's Brent Hinds, plus some Daptone horn players, however, no word if Black Moth Super Rainbow, Black Mountain, nor Black Rebel Motorcycle Gang helped out their fellow monochromatically-monikered musicians.   • Portland band Red Fang tapped Portlandia TV star Fred Armisen for the music video to “Blood Like Cream,” from their new album Whales And Leeches. Watch their Seek & Destroy on KEXP session here, and watch the gruesomely-fun video below. The band makes their late-night TV debut on The Late Show with David Letterman on January 10th. [Stereogum]

  • Please, oh please, let this be true: Prince is reportedly a big fan of FOX's TV show The New Girl, starring Zooey Deschanel, and has submitted a script idea to the writers, based around the all-night dance parties he regularly hosts at his house. Apparently, the episode will air after the Super Bowl on February 2nd, and will feature his royal highness himself, in his sitcom television debut (unless you count his appearance on Muppets Tonight in 1997).
