  • Cole Williams, a.k.a. The Child of Lov, has passed away at the age of 26. NME has reported that his death was caused due to surgical complications, but this has not been confirmed. Earlier this year Williams released his debut album and it’s heartbreaking that this young musician was taken too soon. Celebrate his talent with his track “Owl” below. [Pitchfork]

  • Surprise! Somehow BeyoncĂ© stealthily flew under the radar and dropped one of the biggest bombshells of the holiday season. Her brand new self-titled album arrived with zero advertising or promotion and it’s still managed to take the media by storm. Queen B enlisted the talents of Frank Ocean, Drake, Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, and even her daughter Blue Ivy to create one kick ass album. It’s available now exclusively on iTunes. Check out a playlist of video previews below.[Stereogum]

  • Last night was just teeming with musical surprises. First Beyonce, and now Lorde. The undeniable breakout star of 2013 released a fresh, new single titled “No Better” on iTunes and in true Lorde fashion, it’s got hard hitting base, soulful vocals, and is all together flawless. [CoS]

  • DJ Premier (producer of Biggie’s “Kick The Door” and NAS’ “NY State of Mind”) has remixed Disclosure’s “Latch.” He amazingly found a way to elevate Sam Smith’s already incredible voice and turn this electric-pop song into true baby making gold. [Stereogum]

  • Yoko Ono has covered Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and it is everything you could ever want from Yoko and MORE. There’s really no way to describe this and do it justice. Buckle your seat belts and listen. [CoS]
