Bowie Birthday Bonanza Today on KEXP

Considered by many to be one of the most influential pop musicians of our time, David Bowie continues to surprise and delight fans and critics alike, with the 2013 secret recording and release of The Next Day, Bowie’s 24th album.

KEXP toasts the Thin White Duke on Wednesday, January 8th, Bowie’s 67th birthday. The all-day Ziggy Stardust celebration culminates at 9:00 pm with DJ El Toro’s four hour fete, featuring Bowie’s big hits and deep cuts, plus collaborations and covers by Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Arcade Fire, Bauhaus, and Nirvana, original versions of songs that Bowie covered, and much more.

And happy birthday, Bowie, means happy birthday us — this time last year, Bowie gifted us a new release. Will Bowie give us a tour in 2014?
