  • Stephen Bruner, a.k.a. Thundercat, teamed up with artists Jolly Mare and Rudi Zygadlo for his contribution to the upcoming Red Bull Academy compilation (available January 15). "Vulnerable People" is a jazz fusion track that really utilizes Bruner's funky bass playing prowess. [Pitchfork]

  • Chvrches delivered a phenomenal cover of Janelle Monae's song "Tightrope" at Billboard's Women in Music awards. No only did the Scottish band have to deal with the standard pressure of performing someone else's song, but Monae herself was in the audience.   • Last night, Parquet Courts made their television debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. They performed an intense rendition of "Stoned and Starving," the breakout single of their debut album, Light Up Gold. [CoS]

  • Danish producer Trentemøller has shared the video for last year's track, which features singer Jana Hunter of Lower Dens, "Gravity." The video stars actor Oscar Isaac as a guy who puts himself into some incredibly sketchy and potentioally dangerous situations, all just to earn a few bucks. [Stereogum]
