  • Last April, Band of Horses recorded their live performance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. The band will release this 10-track acoustic collection, as the aptly titled, Acoustic at the Ryman on February 11. Check out the first sample, a bare bones of their 2007 track “Detlef Schrempf.” [CoS]

  • The Mary Onettes are working on a “mini album” called Portico that is set to release sometime later this year. The Swedish dream pop band has shared the album’s first track “Silence Is A Gun” and it is positively transcendent. [Stereogum]

  • The city of Aberdeen, Washington has declared February 20 as Kurt Cobain Day! The Nirvana frontman was born there on that day in 1967. According to Aberdeen’s mayor Bill Simpson, “Aberdeen residents may justifiably take pride in the role our community played in the life of Kurt Cobain.” The official announcement will be made on February 12. • On Tuesday, we shared Mac DeMarco‘s new track “Passing Out Pieces” and now we have another offering from his upcoming Salad Days album. Thanks to La Blogothèque, video has surfaced of the Canadian rocker performing “Treat Her Right” for an audience at Sundance. [Pitchfork]

  • Electronic musician Will Wiesenfeld, a.k.a. Baths, has delivered a whimsical remix Grizzly Bear’s “Will Calls.” Baths will embark on an extensive tour next month and lucky for us, he end up in Seattle at Nuemo’s Crystal Ball on May 16. [Pitchfork]
