  • Hot off his Academy Award nomination for the soundtrack to the movie Her, Owen Pallett has announced the release of his fourth album, In Conflict, out May 13 on Domino/Secret City.   • While down under for Australia’s traveling Laneway Festival, Earl Sweatshirt, King Krule, and members of Warpaint and Jagwar Ma teamed up for “an epic 12-hour all-night recording session.” No word yet on where the recordings will end up, but stay tuned for more details. [Consequence of Sound]
  • Internet celebrities Andrew W.K. and Lil’ Bub have teamed up for the track “Star Party Animal,” which will air on the Animal Planet show Lil Bub’s Special Special this weekend, but you can go ahead and watch it below now.   • Yesterday we reported that Masha Alyokhina and Nadya Tolokonnikova of Pussy Riot were guests on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report, and last night, the Russian feminist collective announced the girls are no longer members. In an open letter posted on Livejournal, the anonymous members stated, “Yes, we lost two friends, two ideological fellow members, but the world has acquired two brave, interesting, controversial human rights defenders. We appreciate their choice and sincerely wish them well in their new career.” [Pitchfork]
