  • Late last month, we shared news about the upcoming Sharon Van Etten album, Are We There, coming out May 27th on Jagjaguwar. Today, you can stream a track from that release, the smoldering single “Taking Chances.” [Pitchfork]

  • The legendary Pixies have shared a new video today for the track “Greens and Blues” off their most recent release, EP-2. Frontman Frank Black describes the song as, an “attempt to come up with another song that would – musically, emotionally and psychologically – sit in the same place that ‘Gigantic’ has sat.” Watch their video below, and check out their KEXP performance of the track here. • After the mind-blowing success of Frozen‘s “Let It Go” and Despicable Me 2‘s “Happy,” it seems Janelle Monáe has caught the movie soundtrack bug. Today, the Electric Lady debuted her sassy, Caribbean infused single “What Is Love” for the upcoming animated film Rio 2. It’s funky and addictive, the perfect combination that will have every generation belting it for months. [CoS]

  • Elvis Costello has remixed a “forgotten” Johnny Cash ballad called “She Used to Love Me a Lot.” In typical Johnny Cash fashion, his deep, haunting vocals will stay with you long after the song has ended. This previously unheard track, along with eleven others, will be released as Out Among The Stars via Columbia/Legacy on March 25. [Pitchfork]

  • Clueless, one of the most beloved movies of the 90s, got the “Fancy” treatment in Iggy Azalea‘s flawless new music video. The Australian rapper, joined by Charli XCX, payed homage to every important moment from the campy classic. Is there anything more iconic than the Cher Horowitz yellow plaid ensemble? AS IF! [CoS]

  • Killer Mike and El-P, aka Run The Jewels, take a cartoonish look at themselves in the new video for their hard-hitting, self-titled track from their recent Run The Jewels LP. I have to say, Killer Mike can definitely pull of the color green. [Pitchfork]

  • Ryan Lott, better known as Son Lux, has teamed up with Lorde for a subtle rework of his track “Easy (Switch Screens).” Lorde adds her signature dose of creepy mystery as she croons along to the pulsating baseline. This version will be available on Son Lux remix EP, Alternate Worlds, on May 27. [Stereogum]
