  • I hope he washed his hands: Beloved local rapper Macklemore shared some advice on Instagram last night for his male fans. Watch his toilet seat public service announcement below: [Buzzfeed]

  • Australian psych-rockers Tame Impala put their unique stamp on a track from the King of Pop. Hear the Perth youngsters cover the Michael Jackson track “Stranger in Moscow” below. [Pitchfork]

  • Continuing his late night TV circuit in promotion of the new album, Morning Phase, Beck performed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night. Like his Saturday Night Live performance, he brought along Father John Misty to accompany him, but this time, he left the Amish hat at home. Watch them perform “Waking Light” below. [Stereogum]

  • Earlier this year, we reported that the iconic band Slint would be reissuing their 1991 masterpiece, Spiderland, as a deluxe box set, complete with a 90-minute documentary about the band. We’re now excited to share that the film, directed by the Northwest’s own Lance Bangs, will be screening at the Grand Illusion theatre in Seattle on April 3rd and 5th. Watch a trailer for the film below: [The Stranger’s Line Out]

  • Finally, in tragic news, last night a suspected drunk driver crashed through barricades at SXSW, and drove through a crowd of people outside the Mohawk at 9th and Red River around 12:30 AM CT. It has been reported that two people were killed and 23 were injured. A statement from the festival relays: “We will be making schedule and venue changes for programming in the surrounding area of last night’s events,” so stay tuned to their website and Twitter for updates. KEXP’s showcases at Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop will continue as scheduled. And, if you’re in Austin, the Blood Center of Central Texas is looking for donors — visit for a list of donation centers. KEXP sends our thoughts and prayers to those affected by last night’s terrible incident, and we hope everyone will stay safe for the remainder of the festival. [Pitchfork]
