  • Cymbals Eat Guitars will release their new LP LOSE, the band's first since 2011's Lenses Alien, on August 26. According to a press release, the LP was inspired by loss, as indicated by its title. The songs were written at a time when frontman Joseph D'Agostino was dealing with the death of his collaborator and friend Benjamin High. Today you can hear the album's opening track, "Jackson." • Singer-songwriter Damon Albarn shares the spotlight with an adorable baby elephant in the video for his unusually up-tempo song "Mr. Tembo." He met the real-life Mr. Tembo while visiting Tanzania and was obviously taken by the loveable animal. Watch Albarn sing about his special muse below. [Stereogum]

  • Bob Dylan has announced that he will release a new album, possibly titled Shadows in the Night, later this year. He posted the album's first track, a cover of Frank Sinatra's 1945 song "Full Moon and Empty Arms," on his website and it's just enough of a teaser to get the anticipation buzzing. Listen here. • On July 15, British singer-songwriter Anna Calvi's new covers EP, Strange Weather will drop via Domino. The album features a stunningly raw cover of FKA Twigs' track "Papi Pacify" and you can hear it now. [Pitchfork]

  • We are sad to report that The Julie Ruin will cancel their appearance at the Capitol Hill Block Party this summer, along with all shows and appearances until September, as bandleader Kathleen Hanna is currently having a relapse in her ongoing battle with Lyme Disease. We wish Kathleen the best of luck with her treatment and eagerly await for her return to Seattle.
