  • Sadly, we lost Chicago footwork pioneer DJ Rashad earlier this year, but before he passed, he and his Teklife crew did this remix of the Sleigh Bells track “Young Legends,” off their most recent release, Bitter Rivals. Check it out below. [Stereogum]

  • Those of us bummed about the live action Jem & the Holograms movie (yeah, it’s true) will delight in the latest video from Brooklyn popkids The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. Watch their animated adventures for the track “Until the Sun Explodes” from their third album, Days of Abandon, out now. (Actually, maybe this is more like Kidd Video... youngsters, Google that.) [Under the Radar]

  • Anxious to hear even more new music from the upcoming Shabazz Palaces album, Lese Majesty? We shared the track “They Come in Gold” last week on the KEXP Blog, and if you listen to this promo video for Parisian fashion house Kenzo, you can hear the opening track “Dawn In Luxor” in the background. That’s stretching it, we know, so just wait for the album to come out June 25th on Sub Pop. [The Stranger's Line Out]

  • Another release we’re counting the days for is the latest from Sharon Van Etten. Stream the track “Your Love Is Killing Me” below, off her forthcoming release, Are We There, out 5/27 on Jagjaguwar. (And don’t forget, she’ll be playing Saturday, July 5th at The Neptune with Courtney Barnett! Whatta bill!) [Stereogum]

  • Clap Your Hands Say Yeah share a new video for the track “As Always,” from their forthcoming (and long-awaited) release Only Run out June 3rd. The band just recently announced their North American tour, including an August 2nd stop at The Crocodile. [Pitchfork]

  • And, finally, in very sad news, the director of the Oscar-winning documentary, Searching for Sugar Man, has passed away. Swedish filmmaker Malik Bendjelloul was only 36. Foul play is not suspected. Read more about his beautiful documentary about Detroit-based musician Rodriguez on the KEXP Blog here. [CNN]
