  • In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Jack White dished on his old bandmate Meg White, who he says has always been a “hermit,” and is “one of those people who won’t high-five me when I get the touchdown.” He added, “All the not-talking didn’t matter, because onstage? Nothing I do will top that.” [Pitchfork]
  • Canadian duo Zeds Dead teamed up with Twin Shadow for their new track “Lost You (featuring D’Angelo Lacy).” It’s definitely a stand out song that can only be described as dazzling, electro-funk. This is just one of the many collaborations that will be featured on Zeds Dead’s upcoming EP Somewhere Else, out July 1. [SPIN]

  • The resemblance between Will Ferrell and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith really is uncanny, especially when they’re donning matching ensembles. Last night, they appeared on “The Tonight Show Staring Jimmy Fallon” to take each other on in a drumming battle for charity. Of course, anything involving Ferrell is bound to be hilarious and this is no exception. Watch the video all the way to the end for a little surprise. [Pitchfork]

  • British breakout star Sam Smith has given the Top 40 airwaves something they’ve been missing for a while, soul. He’s shown so much versatility between electro-pop and power ballads and his debut album, The Lonely Hour hasn’t even dropped yet (June 17). He’s shared the video for his brilliant new single “Leave Your Lover,” where Smith seems stuck in a tragic love triangle. [Stereogum]

  • Atlanta metal band Mastodon‘s new album Once More ‘Round The Sun will on June 24. They’ve released a 40-second preview of the track “Chimes At Midnight” and it sounds like a real thrasher. Lucky for us, they debuted the song in our great city last month and thanks to a fan video, you can hear the full song below. [Stereogum]
