  • Long Island dream pop outfit Twin Sister have decided that after six years on the music scene, it’s time for a slight name update. Henceforth, they would like to be known as Mr. Twin Sister, nothing too drastic. They haven’t shared anything new since 2011, but now their back with the mysterious “Out Of The Dark.” This deep and polished, fresh sound was well worth the wait. [Stereogum]

  • The A.V. Club has created an intriguing video series called Pioneering, where burgeoning bands cover songs by legends in the legend’s hometown. The Seattle installment featured Michigan post-hardcore band La Dispute covering Nirvana‘s Nevermind track “Polly.” Check it out below. [Stereogum]

  • Sam Smith announced a huge tour to promote his upcoming debut album, In The Lonely Hour. His tour will land in America in the fall and he will be in Seattle at the Paramount Theatre on September 25. In The Lonely hour drops in the United States on June 17 via Capitol Records. [CoS]
  • Ghostface Killah, of the Wu-Tang Clan, recruited fellow rapper Danny Brown and Toronto jazz trio BADBADNOTGOOD for his new track “Six Degrees.” This may seem like an odd combination, but the electric instrumental only elevates both rappers’ masterful flows. It will be available as a 10″ on June 24. [Pitchfork]

  • Over the weekend, Lana Del Rey debuted a new track from her forthcoming album Ultraviolence (out June 17). “Shades of Cool” follows the tried-and-true Del Rey method of low, languid vocals and brooding melodies. [SPIN]
