    • Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers have shared two fantastic tracks from their upcoming 13th studio album Hypnotic Eye (out July 29). "U Get Me High" has catchy lyrics and effortless guitar riffs that are so distinctly Petty. The second, "Red River" takes a more somber tone as Petty weaves a story about a mysterious woman. Be sure to catch Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers live at the Gorge on August 15. [CoS] As a constantly evolving artist, Ahmed Gallab, better known as , is not afraid to play around with different types of sound. His newest offering "Hold Tight" is a definite departure from his usual afrobeat style. It's impossible to ignore the Sade-like quality of Gallab's falsetto when paired with this soulful, slow-burning R&B flow. Sinkane's fall tour will bring him to Seattle on October 17 at . []

    • Dinosaur Jr. frontman J Mascis has unveiled the opening song from his forthcoming solo album Tied to a Star. "Every Morning" delivers a smooth, solid sound that sets a great tone for the rest of the 11-track LP. Tied to a Star will be released on August 26 via Sub Pop. [CoS]

    • On August 5, Spoon will drop their latest album They Want My Soul. Yesterday, while onstage at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City, they webcasted the debut performance of the album opener "Rent I Pay." Below you can hear the official studio version of the track. [Pitchfork]

    • Chvrches have extended their world tour to include more dates in the United States this fall. The band's already lenghty promotion of last year's The Bones of What You Believe will bring them to Seattle on August 7 at Showbox SoDo. [Pitchfork]
