Friday Music News

  • After a long five years, it’s great to have Bishop Allen back in business. They’ve graced us with the video for “Start Again,” the addictive and aptly titled track from their new album Lights Out (out August 19 via Dead Oceans). Frontman Justin Rice takes you on a nostalgic tour of the band’s hometown of Kingston, New York and all its hotspots. [CMJ]

  • Swedish sisters First Aid Kit delivered a flawless performance of their hit single “Silver Lining” last night on the Late Show With David Letterman. Their third studio album Stay Gold dropped earlier this week. [Stereogum]

  • Jessie Ware has shared a teeny snippet of her upcoming track “Tough Love” on Instagram. The full single will be available on June 16. We haven’t heard anything new from Ware since last year’s EP If You’re Never Gonna Move, and this blip of music sounds promising. [CoS]

  • Here’s a little something fun for your Friday. Big Freedia, aka Freddie Ross, helps you de-stress in the video for “Explode.” It starts off on a serious, demure note and then transforms into the biggest party a laundromat has ever seen. Go ahead and “release your wiggle.” [SPIN]
