Live Video: Manatee Commune

photo by Dave Lichterman (Live on KEXP)

Just about a month ago, I had the honor of hosting a special all-electronic edition of KEXP’s local show, Audioasis, to showcase some of the finest electronic sounds coming from the Pacific Northwest! We did two live in-studio performances, including a video session with 21 year-old Bellingham-based artist Manatee Commune. Dude creates sublime ambient/chillwave/downtempo/classical songs and masterfully balances playing laptop, sampler, live drums, guitar, tambourine, viola, and wind chimes(!), all while barefoot! Awesome performer and super fun session. He’ll be playing at this year’s Capitol Hill Block Party, Bumbershoot Music Festival, and Decibel Festival.
