  • Toronto artist Katie Stelmanis, better known as Austra, shares the new video for the track “Hulluu” from her latest EP, Habitat. Directed by Zeesy Powers, the video features Canadian dancer Emily Law. In a press release, Stelmanis says, “I knew that I wanted the video for ‘Hulluu’ to focus on movement. I’ve known Emily since I was 12 and she is the best dancer/waacker in Toronto so I definitely wanted her to be a part of it.” [Under the Radar]

  • It’s been eleven long years, but we finally have new music from The Wrens to share… well, 56 seconds of a song, anyway! The band have been working hard on their follow-up to 2003′s beloved release The Meadowlands, and have shared a wayward track on their Soundcloud that won’t make the final release. As they write online, “Sometimes you work & you work and you still throw it away ’cause it doesn’t fit. This is one of the more recent cutting-room-floor bits, freshly sliced only yesterday.” Check it out here. [Consequence of Sound]
  • Famed Afrobeat percussionist Tony Allen will release a new album, Film of Life, this October via Jazz Village, and the first single features none other than Damon Albarn on vocals. The two have collaborated on each other’s releases in the past, and Allen made a guest appearance with Albarn’s supergroup The Good, the Bad & the Queen. Hear their latest work together below: [Consequence of Sound]

  • Art-rap group Death Grips have announced they are breaking up. In what looks like a manifesto scribbled on a napkin, the experimental hip-hop duo state, “We are now at our best and so Death Grips is over. We have officially stopped.” All remaining concert dates, including their upcoming opening slot with Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden, have been canceled. [Spin]
