KEXP Suggests: Chive Fest Seattle 7/12

So far, it’s been a total scorcher this summer, the weather giving outdoor enthusiasts and festival-goers alike strong reasons for enjoying the cloudless skies. Whether it be hiking, biking, or touring the amazing music scene, Seattle, to say the least, is a great place to pass time underneath the sun’s rays. As a service to all our listeners during the summer months, we try to provide you with as many opportunities as possible for seeing stellar bands outdoors (of course) and for hearing music that we think’s worth a listen. So, here it is: coming up on the 12th of July, from 2pm – 11pm, Seattle welcomes Chive Fest in all its grandeur, dubbing itself as “probably the best little festival in the world.”

theCHIVE , online entertainment website and charitable organization, will be storming the Seattle Center with a line-up of talented artists that’s sure to impress. For the Seattle show, the organization has collected musicians such as Washed Out // Steel Panther // St. Lucia // The Birds of Satan // Surfer Blood // Moon Taxi // Ghost Beach and, headlining the event, Girl Talk. About the festival, John Resig, president and co-founder of theCHIVE, states that, ” We’ve really rolled out the green carpet for all of the Chivers in Seattle and will give them an event they’ll never forget.” Maybe it’s the larger-than-life sized game of Operation that will reel in the audience, or the presence of the Resignation Brewery, theCHIVE’s very own brewery, that will have all of the concert-goers perfectly inebriated for a day of aural debauchery. In fact, the elusive KCCO Black Lager and the previously unreleased Gold Lager will be flowing exclusively at Seattle Center. So, what else can you ask for? Crafted beer, diverse musicians, beautiful weather, and great company, it’s evident that Chive Fest is shaping up to fit Seattle’s eclectic demands.

Grab your tickets here (unfortunately the event is only 21+), and check out their Facebook and Twitter pages. If you don’t want to shell out the dough and prefer to try your luck, you can enter a drawing for General Admission and VIP tickets here, courtesy of DO206. Moreover, for your viewing pleasure, we’ve attached the promotional video for Chive Fest to give you an idea of how the melodious celebration will take course!
