  • Today, indie rock duo The Raveonettes pulled a Beyonce and surprise released their album Pe'ahi,named after a surfing spot in Maui. The opening track "Endless Sleeper" according to Sune Rose Wagner refers to "a horrific near-drowning experience I had in Hawaii some years ago. It’s about taking risks in order to exist."   • Eddie Vedder performed a solo set at Portugal's Super Bock Super Rock festival last weekend. During the show he invited Cat Marshall (of Cat Power) onstage to sing "Tonight You Belong To Me," a song they recorded together in 2011. Thanks to a fan video you can watch the performance below, Cat joins in at around the 3 minute mark. [Stereogum]

  • Electronic musician, producer, and rapper Flying Lotus has finally announced the October 7 release date for You're Dead!, his newest album. In support of his new music, he will also launch an extensive tour that will bring him to Seattle on November 18. Tickets to catch him at Neptune go on sale Thursday. [Pitchfork]

  • Zammutto will release his second solo album Anchor on September 2. Over at NPR you can hear the album track "Hegemony." It's a bit of a contradiction, full of intense percussions and airy female vocals. [Stereogum]

  • Hudson Mohawk, former member of TNGHT, has shared the fierce title track from his upcoming EP Chimes. The four-song EP will drop on September 30 via Warp Records. "Chimes" will also be featured in a new ad for Apple, which is pretty big time. [CoS]
