  • A half-joking song deserves a half-joking video, and that’s exactly what UK trio Alt-J turn out with their clip for “Left Hand Free,” a song the band claim they wrote as a joke to appease their record label. The video, filmed outside of Austin, Texas, features a bunch of teen clichés to complement the “rawk” cliché of the song. [Stereogum]

  • Ethereal-electro project Austra also share a new video today for the dreamy track “Doepfer” from her latest EP, Habitat. Shot by director Adrienne Crossman, the clip is a lovely look at the band’s hometown of Toronto. [Under the Radar]

  • Season five of Portlandia is currently underway, which means Late Night with Seth Meyers bandleader Fred Armisen is a little overbooked. Who better to fill in on the late-night band than St. Vincent, who will substitute for Armisen on August 11th and 12th. [Spin]
  • Jon Stewart knows the Wu-Tang ain’t nuthing to eff with, as last night all nine members of the Wu-Tang Clan gathered on The Daily Show on Comedy Central. Watch them debut the new song “Ron O’Neal” from their forthcoming release, A Better Tomorrow, out in November. The ‘Clan will be performing at Bumbershoot this Labor Day weekend. [Pitchfork]
