  • Bay Area bad-ass Ty Segall appeared on Conan last night to perform “Feel” from his upcoming release, Manipulator, out August 26th on Drag City. Check out his performance below, and check out KEXP’s exclusive debut of the track “Susie Thumb” on the KEXP Blog. [Under the Radar]

  • British trio Alt-J are just all over the map with their sophomore release This Is All Yours, due out September 22nd via Warner Music. Today, they share their third single, “Every Other Freckle,” mixing folk and soul with their distinctive vocal interplay. [Spin]

  • And we’ve got more new music from Canadian cuties The New Pornographers: check out a live performance of “Dancehall Domine” recorded for the CBC, our neighbors to the north. (Sadly, both Neko Case and Dan Bejar are missing from the clip.) Hear the band LIVE on KEXP on Monday, October 6th at 1 PM PT! [Consequence of Sound]

  • Blues-rock duo The Black Keys shared a new video today for the track “Weight Of Love” from their latest, Turn Blue. Watch as Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney do their preacher schtick in the background, as a cult leader directs her followers through some exercises. Memorize those moves for their Saturday, November 1st show at Key Arena! [Consequence of Sound]

  • The Afghan Whigs have made a reputation for themselves with their stellar covers, and they continue the tradition with their take on The Police’s “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic.” In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, frontman Greg Dulli says, “I think it’s just a really well-written song that’s always had this kind of spooky melancholic undercurrent to it that I’m a fan of.” [Stereogum]
