Song Premiere: Elliott BROOD – Jigsaw Heart

After a dozen years and now five albums, there’s no doubt about it: the BROOD are all grown up. On their newly announced forthcoming album, Work and Love, Ontario trio Elliott BROOD turn from the historical subjects they depicted with great poignancy on their previous albums, like 2011’s Days Into Years and 2008’s Mountain Meadows, more inwardly as they’ve each created histories of their own. Yet, while Work and Love is certainly their most personal album to date, it also marks the first time the band has worked with an outside producer, in Ian Blurton (The Weakerthans, Amy Millan, Cookie Duster). The result is their most adventurous album to date. At KEXP, we’ve long been fans of the BROOD, so we can’t wait to share the first single, “Jigsaw Heart”, from this new chapter in our friends’ lives with you now.

You can pick up Work and Love when it comes out October 21 on Paper Bag Records. Until then, keep listening to “Jigsaw Heart” and find out more about the band on their website and Facebook page.
