  • On November 11, the star-studded collaborative album Lost on the River: The New Basement Tapes will finally be released. The album features unreleased lyrics written by Bob Dylan that date back to 1967. The track “Nothing To It” is lead by My Morning Jacket’s Jim James and also features Mumford and Sons’ Marcus Mumford, and Elvis Costello. • New Jersey indie rockers Real Estate participated in the A.V. Club’s “Undercover” Series where they took on the Cranberries 1993 song “Linger.” It’s a smooth rendition that doesn’t stay too far from the original. [Pitchfork]

  • Savages have just announced a collaboration with their friends Bo Ningen in the form of a 37-minute “simultaneous sonic poem”. Inspired by the Dadaist club Cabaret Voltaire and the simultaneous poetry enacted there in post-WWI era, the two groups first performed “Words To The Blind” this past May in London’s The Red Gallery and will re-record it in the studio for a co-release by Stolen Recordings / Pop Noire Records on November 17th. Here’s a video trailer of the original performance:

  • Last month, A$AP Ferg remixed Haim‘s “My Song 5″ and now they’ve shared a hilarious video to go with it. SNL‘s Vanessa Bayer plays a Jerry Springer knock-off named Dallas Murphy who interviews the Haim sisters and A$AP Ferg. Exra Koenig and Ke$ha also make appearances. [Pitchfork]
