  • Adorable Aussie Courtney Barnett stopped by The AV Club recently for a stab at their "Undercover" series, where bands cover songs from a predetermined list. Watch her and the Courtney Barnetts (yes, that's her band's name) tackle the '90s anthem "Cannonball" by The Breeders. They'll be back in the States soon, playing Friday, October 31st at The Neptune.   • Speaking of the "down under," the New Zealand duo behind Flight of the Conchords, Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement, have confirmed they'll return to HBO for a non-Conchords project. Clement confirmed to The Guardian that they've signed a deal with the network for a brand new four-episode series. More details as we get them. [Spin]

  • Canadian quintet Stars share another new track from their upcoming seventh album, No One Is Lost, out October 14th via ATO Records. Stream the excellent autumnal ballad "Turn It Up" below, and stay tuned for Northwest tour dates to come. [Consequence of Sound]

  • Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ frontwoman Karen O releases her debut solo album, Crush Songs, on September 9th via Julian Casablancas’ label Cult Records. Today, we share a new track, "Days Go By," another lovely, lilting number. Stream it below. [Stereogum]

  • L.A. garage rocker King Tuff teams up with New York rap producer Harry Fraud on this track "Danger In The Dark." No, it won't appear on his upcoming Sub Pop full-length, Black Moon Spell, out 9/23 on Sub Pop.
