  • Brooklyn band Parquet Courts have just released a split 7" with their neighbors in Future Punx. Released as part of the Less Artists More Condos series through Famous Class, proceeds from the sale of the single go to benefit the Ariel Panero Memorial Fund at VH1 Save The Music.   • Reunited Canadian duo Death From Above 1979 made a stop to the Late Show with David Letterman last night. Watch them perform the track "Trainwreck 1979" off their long-awaited sophomore release The Physical World, and keep track of all these late-night musical moments with KEXP's TV Eye column.   • Earlier this year, UK producer SBTRKT (aka Aaron Jerome) announced his new album, Wonder Where We Land, and today he shares a track featuring guest appearances from A$AP Ferg and Warpaint. In a note on Soundcloud, Jerome writes "this is one of my fave tracks and seemed to be a fitting ending to the record too. this started with me having a seed idea but seeing it grow way beyond that with these multi layers of collaboration and places. shout to ferg, stella and emily for their input!"   • In sad news, the former guitarist for Primal Scream, Robert "Throb" Young, has passed away at the age of 49. Frontman Bobby Gillespie and rhythm guitarist Andrew Innes released the following statement:

    • We have lost our comrade and brother Robert Young. A beautiful and deeply soulful man. He was an irreplaceable talent, much admired amongst his peers, In the words of Johnny Marr "Throb with a gold top Les Paul – unbeatable"
    • He was a true rock and roller. He walked the walk. He had "Heart & Soul"
    • tattooed on his arm and i'm sure on his heart too. He once said to me "when we go onstage it's a war between us and the audience." He never let go of that attitude.
    • Our love and thoughts are with his sons Brandon and Miles and their mother Jane, his wife Rachel, and his immediate family.

    The cause of his death is still unknown, but police are not treating it as suspicious. [Spin]
