  • Bay Area bashers Thee Oh Sees return this Spring with their ninth album, Mutilator Defeated At Last. Stream the first single "Web" below. This time around, the line-up consists of mainstay frontman John Dwyer (vocals, guitar), Tim Hellman (bass), Nick Murray (drums), Brigid Dawson (keyboard and tambourine), and Chris Woodhouse (engineer). Mutilator Defeated At Last hits stores on May 18th via Dwyer's imprint Castle Face Records. [Spin]

  • Canadian synthpop duo Purity Ring took the stage at Late Night with Seth Meyers to perform the track "Begin Again" from their sophomore release Another Eternity. Watch their performance below, featuring a fancy lighting display reminiscent of their 2012 MusicFestNW performance on KEXP. Purity Ring bring their fantastic new album to Showbox SoDo on Tuesday, June 16th. [Consequence of Sound]

  • Goofily-named UK noise-pop group Joanna Gruesome return this Spring with their sophomore album Peanut Butter. Stream the track "Honestly Do Yr Worst" below, a song the band describes as "about espionage, rival groups and the radical possibilities of peanut butter spread, the single is the perfect encapsulation of the band's combination of hyper-melodic pop music and sonic violence." Peanut Butter hits stores May 19th via Slumberland Records. [Under the Radar]

  • Multicultural duo The Very Best (featuring Malawian singer Esau Mwamwaya and Swedish producer Johan Hugo) share a new video today for the track "Let Go," featuring Vampire Weekend’s Chris Baio on bass. Check out the fun old-school video game clip below, directed by animator Pappas Parlor. "Let Go" is featured on the upcoming release Makes A King, out April 14th via PIAS. [Stereogum]
