  • This Sunday, you can catch Cat Power on an episode of China, IL - a show about The University of China in Illinois - on Cartoon Network. The singer-songwriter plays a downtrodden gorilla that's about to be killed and used for fuel. Seriously. • Mac DeMarco recently stopped by BBC Radio 1 for a fun two hour interview, during which her performed three songs. He sang "Let Her Go" and "Still Together," and "The Way You'd Love Her" - a new one from his upcoming mini-album, Another One (out on August 7). Listen HERE. [Pitchfork]

  • Little Wings, aka Kyle Field, has shared the video for his Explains track "Light Brang." Sometimes artists rely on animation or high-production to make a video memorable, but not Fields. It's just him, his music, and some sparklers. He just dances like no ones watching and it's so unapologetically genuine, that you can't help but love it. [Stereogum]

  • Sigur Rós celebrate the 16th anniversary of the album Ágætis byrjun with an expanded box set reissue featuring unheard studio recordings, rare live cuts, photos, and other documentary materials. (Watch a trailer for the box set below.) In addition to the box set, at 2:00 PM PT, they'll audio-stream its release-day show at the Icelandic Opera House from 1999! So, after you've made a gift to The Afternoon Show on KEXP, watch the performance here. [Pitchfork]
