  • '80s icons New Order continue to tease Music Complete, their first new release in over a decade, and their first without founding bassist Peter Hook. Check out the track "Plastic" below, a classic new wave dance track featuring backing vocals from La Roux's Elly Jackson. Music Complete hits stores September 25th via Mute. [Pitchfork]

  • Follicularly-blessed Brooklyn band DIIV share a new track today, too: stream the shimmery synth single "Dopamine" below. No official release date yet, but the song will appear on the band's forthcoming full-length Is the Is Are, out later this year on Captured Tracks. [Spin]

  • Have you ever wanted to learn how to play bass like Jack Lawrence? Sure, you have! Today, the Dead Weather rhythm-maker shares his techniques via video, which you can watch below. The clip also provides a sneak peek at "Mile Markers," another track from their upcoming release, Dodge & Burn, out September 25th via Jack White’s Third Man Records. [Stereogum]

  • Elbow frontman Guy Garvey is stepping out with a solo album this fall, titled Courting the Squall. He explains on Facebook, "Elbow graciously gave me some time to write a solo album. I've wanted to try for years and I'm really proud of it. 'Solo' because I wrote everything but I was far from alone. I invited my favorite players outside of Elbow (many of them also my favorite people) and we moved fast, drank a lot, and had what can only be described as a massive laugh along the way."
