  • Boston punk band The Real Kids had a surprise hit in 1977 with the track "All Kindsa Girls," and now all-girl trio Ex Hex give it a modern spin with their rendition, shared below. Lead vocalist Mary Timony described it to NME as, "just a great song, the kind of song that you wish you wrote." The cover marks the band's first new music since last year's debut album, Rips, on Merge Records. [Stereogum]

  • The Adult Swim Singles series is the gift that keeps on giving: following last week's amazing collaboration between Shabazz Palaces, Flying Lotus, and Thundercat, today, they share a new track from Run the Jewels titled "Rubble Kings Theme (Dynamite)." The song comes from the soundtrack to the documentary Rubble Kings, about Bronx gangs in the '70s, which comes out on DVD on October 30th. Listen below: [Under the Radar]

  • If you caught the shoegaze documentary Beautiful Noise at SIFF last year, you'll remember that Robert Smith of The Cure is a huge fan of Ride, and even took the boys out on tour back in the '90s. To promote the 25th anniversary of the Ride album Nowhere, Smith remixed their signature track "Vapour Trail," which you can stream below. It won't appear on the self-released reissue, which hits stores on November 6th. Watch an exclusive KEXP acoustic session from Andy and Mark of Ride, filmed during OFF Festival, here. Ride play Monday, November 16th at the Neptune Theatre in Seattle. [Pitchfork]

  • Scottish electro-pop trio Chvrches stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last week for a spirited performance of the track "Leave A Trace" off their latest, Every Open Eye. Watch below, and keep track of all these late-night TV highlights with KEXP's TV Eye. Chvrches play Wednesday, October 14th at The Paramount Theatre in Seattle. [Consequence of Sound]
