  • Seattle's own indie rockers The Cave Singers have shared "That's Why," the lead single from their upcoming album, Banshee. Thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign, which landed the band $20,000 in one month, they will self-release the album on February 19. [Stereogum]

  • On January 22, Savages will drop their sophomore album Adore Life via Matador. The London post punk outfit shared the aggressive and fuzzy album track called "T.I.W.Y.G.". Check it out below. [Pitchfork]

  • Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros have premiered "Hot Coals," their first song since last year's split with singer Jade Castrinos. Frontman Alex Ebert describes this new phase of the band as, "it’s like we just turned on a new page in the old book with the inscription: serve your power and work beyond reason." Their new album is expected to be released early next year. [CoS]

  • The A.V. Club's "Undercover" series is a great way for artists to step out of their comfort zone and put their own spin on popular songs. Iron & Wine recently stopped by the studio and took on heavy metal band GWAR's track "Sick of You." Iron & Wine's folk style juxtaposed with the crude lyrics is very entertaining. Watch to the end so you can see him get some very special feedback. [Pitchfork]
