  • Nominations were announced this morning for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards, and many KEXP faves were on the list, including Kendrick Lamar, who garnered 11 nominations for his latest To Pimp A Butterfly. Courtney Barnett was nominated for Best New Artist, while local boys Death Cab for Cutie will battle for Best Rock Album. This weekend’s KEXP Yule Benefit headliners Wolf Alice got a nod for Best Rock Performance for the track “Moaning Lisa Smile.” Other nominees include Alabama Shakes, Björk, My Morning Jacket, Tame Impala, Wilco, Jamie xx, The Dead Weather, and more. Tune in on February 15, 2016 to see who wins, or at least, what everyone wears. [Spin]

  • Seattle’s David Bazan gives own spin on The Killers single “Read My Mind” — listen below. The cover was recorded as part of Polyvinyl Records’ 4-track Singles Series, where every month, subscribers get a 7″ vinyl single featuring a track recorded on an old-school Tascam recorder. • Anyone who’s been to a METZ show knows how intense it can get, and the Canadian band attempt to capture that in their video for the track “Spit You Out,” off this year’s release METZ II.
