One of the best things about being part of commercial-free KEXP is when you hear from other music lovers about why they choose to support KEXP with their financial contributions. With the end of the year (and your last chance to donate in 2015) just hours away, it seems appropriate to share a few of the comments and emails submitted by KEXP donors throughout this amazing, listener-powered year.

Friday, February 6 – International Clash Day

I donated today because International Clash day had to be the most awesome event ever in radio history. It was like waking up in the early 80’s to KCMU. THANK YOU! – Diane

Friday, May 8 – Runner Powered Podcast, Vol. 4

The Runner Powered podcasts helped me through my first half-marathon and will again help with my next one in two weeks! – Randall

Friday, June 6 thru Thursday, June 11 – Amplifiers Love Week 2015

I got a call from someone at KEXP thanking me for being in the Amplifiers Club, and it really made my day. That KEXP takes the time to make a thank-you phone call is another reason to love this radio station even more. – Ian

Friday, July 10 – All-Request Friday

I have been listening to KEXP for most of the day, and I was JUST telling my husband that it has been a day when I am so especially glad that we bumped up our monthly giving amount with the last drive. Then you play Gary Numan, my all-time personal favorite musician. Hurray! – Anonymous

Friday, July 24 – Inside Paul’s Boutique

I was an intern for Adam Yauch’s film company and this 12-hr block is making my day. The Beasties taught me not only to fight for my right to party but to fight for women’s rights and civil justice across the globe. Thanks for breaking down my favorite album of all time! – Spike

Thursday, September 17 – Six Degrees of Greg Dulli

I power KEXP because I love the programming. Six Degrees of Greg Dulli was the clincher. – Ryan

Thursday, November 12 – The Mom Show

What was up with Bonobo’s “A Calf Born in Winter” that had me feeling wrapped in grief and inspiration at the same time? I felt a surge of energy to cry and laugh and then, of course, share the song on Facebook. That’s how we share really meaningful moments in our lives these days, right?  – Laura

Wednesday, December 9 – Moving Day

Goose bump-inducing set this morning … this new building is a physical manifestation of the endless words of support and the incredible effect KEXP has in people’s lives around the world … I’m proud to have been a part of this station in a small way for the last 13 years. – Tyler
