KEXP Suggests: Seattle Rock Lottery 2/20

This Friday, the Seattle music scene is being turned upside down with the Seattle Rock Lottery. Head over to The Crocodile at 10:00 p.m. to see how it all shakes out. The Rock Lottery, started in 1997 has become a landmark event for not only Seattle- but for Brooklyn and North Texas. 19 years later, musicians are still signing up to join the rock lottery.

What is this mysterious experience you ask? On the morning of February 20th, 25 hand-picked musicians meet up and are put into 5 random groups with one task: rehearsing a song to cover that will be performed later that night. This time Seattle musicians like Dan Peters of Mudhoney, Grant Schroff of The Polyrhythmics, and SassyBlack of Thee Satisfaction will be participating, (just to name a few) making it a hard to miss event.

This is a benefit event, with all proceeds going to Totem Star, a youth empowerment program that focuses on music production and performance. For more information on Totem Star and what they do, you can visit their website. Doors for this event open at 9:00 and the show begins at 10:00. Seattle Rock Lottery is a 21+ event, tickets are $10 and can be purchased here.
