Song of the Day: View - Lace (featuring LCMDF)

Every Monday through Friday, we deliver a different song as part of our Song of the Day podcast subscription. Today’s song, featured on the Afternoon Show with Kevin Cole, is “Lace” by Finnish artist View, from his self-released 2015 EP, Avalon.

View, hailing from Finland, is a 23 year old rapper who, although brand new to the scene, is already gaining notoriety. He's gained a following in Europe and beyond with the help of his producer, Joonas Laaksoharju. The pair made their debut with the release of their Avalon EP, a genre bending album. In short? A lot is going on for the two, and with the creativity and determination apparent in each and every track- the only way to go is up. On today's featured song, "Lace", View features Finnish electropop duo LCMDF in a collaboration that sounds like two worlds colliding, making for a very somber and mellow EDM/hip hop combination, not something you hear every day.

View doesn't have any plans to visit the United States anytime soon, but for now you can keep up with the rapper on his Facebook page and check out his epic video for "Lace," which ends up being less of a music video and more of a short film.
