We love when one of our favorite bands remixes another favorite band, and that's just what we've got with the track below: hear Wye Oak's take on "Need A Friend," a single from EL VY, the collaboration of Matt Berninger of The National and Brent Knopf of Menomena and Ramona Falls. Late last month, former Rose Windows frontwoman Rabia Shaheen Qazi had her apartment broken into, losing musical instruments and gear, as well as records, clothes, money, and mementos. Qazi has been pursuing a solo global-folk project since the 2015 demise of the Sub Pop-signed psych-rock group. Mercury Prize-nominated UK band Metronomy return in Summer '16 with a new LP titled Summer 08. Today, they share the first single "Old Skool," which features guest vocals from popstar Robyn and guest scratchin' by Beastie Boys' Mix Master Mike. The accompanying video is also a star-studded affair, featuring Catastrophe's Sharon Horgan and Game of Thrones' Ben Crompton. Summer 08 is due out July 1st via Because Music. [Under the Radar]

Nick Zinner of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Seattleites Jordan Blilie and Cody Votolato formerly of The Blood Brothers and Justin Pearson and Gabe Serbian of The Locust have revived their side project, Head Wound City. Stream their sophomore release, A New Wave Of Violence, in its entirety below. In a press release, the band state their mission is "more depth, less irony. Eliminate irony altogether. Grow up and get rid of it." A New Wave Of Violence hits stores May 13th via VICE. [Under the Radar]
