It's been four years since the last Dinosaur Jr. album, I Bet on Sky. So, where you been, guys? Well, recording, obvs, 'cause the revered alt-rockers just announced their 11th full-length, Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not, out August 5th via Jagjaguwar. Check out "Tiny," the first single below, which is definitely large in sonic sound. Get your earplugs ready: the guys have announced a Saturday, October 1st date at The Showbox. Their previous album Mutilator Defended At Last just came out last year, but prolific west coast bashers Thee Oh Sees already have a new album coming out this summer, A Weird Exits. As always, founder and songwriter John Dwyer is at the helm, with another new line-up of drummers Ryan Moutinho and Dan Rincon and bassist Tim Hellman. Check out the six-minute track "Plastic Plant" below. Thee Oh Sees return to Seattle, playing Friday, November 25th at Neumos. [Stereogum]

As a longtime fan of both bands, I'm not quite sure how to feel about this: Real Estate have announced that founding member and guitarist Matt Mondanile has left the group to focus on his project Ducktails. The band released the following statement:
- Having previously announced a short run of shows in California and a show at Red Rocks Amphitheater with The National, Real Estate expand on this by adding two further California dates. This limited run of dates is a prelude to the recording of their next album, tentatively slated for early 2017.
- These upcoming shows will be the first with new member and fellow scion of Ridgewood, NJ, guitarist Julian Lynch. Lynch takes the place vacated by the departing Matt Mondanile, who is focusing on his own Ducktails project, a musical endeavor that predates his involvement in Real Estate.
- The band will commence recording their follow-up to Atlas this summer.
Matt returns to Seattle with Ducktails on Friday, July 8th at Barboza. In the meanwhile, let's remember how good the boys were together in this 2014 KEXP in-studio session. [Pitchfork]
