"It's pretty windy, and Peter's cymbals are all over the place, but we're going to roll with it." Deep Sea Diver's Jessica Dobson may have introduced the Seattle quartet's performance nonchalantly, but they were anything but casual during their 45 minute performance as they opened the Bigfoot stage on the festival's third day. Their recently-released sophomore effort, Secrets, is their tightest, sharpest set of songs to date, and Dobson and company rolled through their new LP, ignoring the heavy gusts that blew around them and delayed their compatriots Tacocat's set. Augmenting their own songs was the band's cover of David Bowie's "Sound & Vision", and while there have been small Bowie tributes all weekend, Deep Sea Diver's rendition of the Low classic – which has been in their set for some time – was the most emphatic and visceral tribute the festival had seen up to that part, not least because the song recontextualized the set to highlight the influence of The Thin White Duke on both Deep Sea Diver and the weekend's other acts.

It's been close to six months since La Luz left Seattle for Los Angeles, so Sasquatch served as a sort of homecoming for the surf rock quartet.
