Come to Daddy: A KEXP Father’s Day Video Roundup

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: dads got it rough. Even back in 2012, DJ John Richards noticed “most songs about dads are written from the voices of estranged men lamenting about what their fathers did wrong.” (Cat’s in the Cradle, anyone? Ouch.) And that creepy Aphex Twin song isn’t exactly titled “Come to Mommy,” now is it? Exactly.

But, we here at KEXP know: dads are awesome. After all, just who’s going to bail you out of jail? Dad, that’s who. And that’s why we have the annual Father’s Day Kids Dance Party, a chance for families to celebrate. Tickets will be available at the door, so, come to daddy this Sunday, June 19th at the KEXP New Home in Seattle Center. And enjoy this playlist of dad-friendly tracks below!
