  • case/lang/veirs -- the lowercased super-group of Neko Case, k.d. lang, and Laura Veirs -- share a video for the track "Atomic Number," a highlight from their self-titled debut, out now via Anti- Records. Director Kangmin Kim explains, "This animation is inspired by the search for a soul-mate with the same atomic number, 42. We are introduced to a world at which every element and character occupy a tiny space in an expansive land mass. The audience is essentially the third person in this colorful, bright world, and in contrast, we can take a contemplative view on the main character's feelings of emptiness in his lonely journey of life." Watch below. case/lang/veirs will perform Thursday, June 30th at the Woodland Park Zoo. [Under the Radar]

  • Speaking of supergroups, Katy Goodman of La Sera (and formerly, Vivian Girls) and Greta Morgan of Springtime Carnivore have combined forces for an album of punk covers, titled Take It, It’s Yours. Morgan tells Stereogum, "The concept of the record began last September when Katy and I were messing around learning Misfits songs on guitar in my backyard. Once we started singing ‘Where Eagles Dare,” we couldn’t stop. Having female voices and girl group harmonies with the lyrics 'I ain’t no goddam son of a bitch, you better think about it, baby' felt like a riveting turnaround." Listen to their lilting take on The Replacements' "Bastards Of Young" below. Take It, It’s Yours is out August 26th via Polyvinyl. [Stereogum]

Natasha Khan, the artist behind the moniker, describes the release as a concept album, following a woman's path from newlywed to widow. The Bride ties the knot next Friday, July 1st, via Parlophone.
