  • Last month, Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor released his sophomore solo-album Piano. During a set at Manchester's Granada Studios, Taylor performed a few tracks off the album as well as a cover of Prince's rare track "Old Friends 4 Sale." It's a beautiful rendition of a relatively unknown piece. [Stereogum]

  • French synthpop duo Cassius have shared the video for their new track "The Missing," which features OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder. The band tweeted a preview of the video earlier today, and you can head to their HERE to experience the video in full. There's a lot of couples making out in a diner, and you can switch up the combinations by clicking on the actors. Their latest album, Ibifornia, drops on August 26. [Pitchfork]

  • Yesterday, the United States celebrated two birthdays, our wonderful country turned 240 and the First Daughter Malia Obama turned 18. Janelle Monaé and Kendrick Lamar headlined the White House's Fourth of July celebration and at the end of the night they were joined by the President himself to serenade his daughter with "happy birthday."
