  • Following a fantastic set at the Capitol Hill Block Party, Car Seat Headrest (aka Will Toldeo) has announced a full-on North American tour in support of his latest, Teens of Denial. He swings back home with a Saturday, November 26th show at the Neptune Theatre. Toldeo also shares a Live EP he recorded for Spotify during SXSW. Stream it below. [Consequence of Sound]

  • More live music below, this time from Ty Segall. Williamsburg warehouse space Death By Audio was more than just a venue: it housed a effects pedal company, a record label, and even a workshop for custom arcade cabinets for video games designed by local indie developers. Sadly, it shuttered its doors in 2014, but on August 5th, Famous Class will issue the 3xLP or digital compilation, Start Your Own Fucking Show Space. The line-up is impressive, including live performances from Thee Oh Sees, Dan Deacon, METZ, Future Islands, Protomartyr, and, of course, Ty, just to name a few. Stream Segall’s appropriately-titled “Wave Goodbye” below. [Consequence of Sound]

  • Is it too early for the early 2000s nostalgia wave? Because, former Vampire Weekend member Rostam Batmanglij has teamed up with Hamilton Leithauser of The Walkmen on this new single, “A 1000 Times,” out now on Glassnote. The song was recorded from Batmanglij’s studio in Los Angeles. He explains, “I wanted us to do a song where the snares would crack as hard as Hamilton’s voice. To me, the song became about that interaction between the vocals and the drums.” Hear the crack below: [Under the Radar]

  • Seattle collective-of-sorts iji, led by Zach Burba, premieres a handful of tracks off their forthcoming full-length, Bubble, out this Friday 7/29 via Team Love. The latest found its inspiration in the album before, Whatever Will Happen. While on tour for that one, the band members kept dream journals that Burba later used to craft these songs. iji are one of the many bands playing this year’s VanFest (organized by KEXP volunteer Van Wolfe) on Saturday, August 20th at Royal Arch Park.
