Following his fantastic third solo album, Singing Saw, Kevin Morby shares a digital 7” single today titled "Tiny Fires." The acoustic track was written and recorded in Morby’s bedroom in Los Angeles, and features two members of his touring band -- Meg Duffy on slide guitar and bass, and Justin Sullivan on drums. When it comes to cute animal songs, Aesop Rock is kinda crushing it, and all you other rappers need to STEP. IT. UP. Aside from the Song of the Year (well, mine, anyway) "Kirby" off his latest LP The Impossible Kid (video here), the west coast rapper has shared a rap song...about otters. In her post-Sonic Youth endeavors, bassist/vocalist Kim Gordon has followed a more avant-garde path with Body/Head, her duo with Bill Nace. But for her first solo single, she goes pretty rock n' roll with the track "Murdered Out." Listen below. Gordon tells NPR, the song features Stella Mogazawa of Warpaint on drums, and was produced in collaboration with Justin Raisen (Ariel Pink, Sky Ferreria). She also says the song is a one-off, but that she and Raisen have discussed possibly collaborating again down the road, so stay tuned. [Spin]

Remember those cool Director Series DVD collections, spotlighting music video directors like Spike Jonze and Chris Cunningham? Remember how the Michel Gondry DVD had all those cool White Stripes videos for "Dead Leaves On The Dirty Ground," "Fell In Love With A Girl," "The Hardest Button To Button," and "The Denial Twist"? Well, now the acclaimed French film director has a new one to add: a clip for the previously unreleased White Stripes song "City Lights," recorded during the sessions for 2005’s Get Behind Me, Satan. The song is included on Jack White's latest release, Jack White Acoustic Recordings 1998-2016, which hit stores last Friday, and Third Man Records state the video was a "genius surprise gift."
