  • The ever so talented Carrie Brownstein has written and directed a new short film for fashion house KENZO. The Realest Real is a hilariously creepy satire about our society’s insane social media obsession. The film stars Girl Meets World‘s Rowan Blanchard, House of Cards‘ Mahershala Ali, Orange is the New Black‘s Natasha Leyone, and Sonic Youth rocker Kim Gordon. [Rolling Stone]

  • Beck shared the video for his single “Wow.” The track will be featured on his upcoming, untitled album that drops on October 21. This video is a bit abstract, but it has something for everyone. There’s dancing children, horses, cowboys, and even roses with eyeballs. Yes. Roses with eyeballs. [Pitchfork]

  • Last night, Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam made their first late night tv appearance as a duo. They performed “1000 Times,” a new track from their upcoming debut album, I Had a Dream That You Were Mine (out September 23). It’s amazing to watch Rostam effortlessly switch between keys and guitar in real time. [CoS]

  • Singer-songwriter Matt Kivel has been a music-making machine this year. On October 7, he’ll drop his second album of 2016, a 26-track collection called Fires On The Plain. He’s unveiled the video for the bluesy song “The Water,” which follows an older cowboy as he wanders aimlessly with a bag of takeout. [Stereogum]
