If you were listening to Warpaint LIVE on KEXP this morning, the L.A. band opened with this brand new track: "Whiteout" (or "White Out" -- seeing two different spellings around). Stream the album version below, out this Friday, September 23rd on the album Heads Up. The new one was co-produced by Jacob Bercovici (from their debut EP Exquisite Corpse) and Warpaint. Nirvana's Nevermind isn't the only album celebrating its 25th anniversary this year (but it is the only album KEXP is celebrating all week long). Grunge supergroup Temple of the Dog (Chris Cornell of Soundgarden, Eddie Vedder, Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, and Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, and drummer Matt Cameron of both bands) are reissuing their self-titled debut album with bonus tracks, like this one: check out the single "Angel of Fire" below. The band have added another date to their hometown, playing Sunday, November 20th and Monday, November 21st at the Paramount Theatre. [Consequence of Sound]

Looks like Jim James is on a creative streak. Following last year's My Morning Jacket album, he's just announced a new solo LP, Eternally Even, out November 4th via ATO/Capitol. Via a press release, he says "I wanted to make an album that hopefully speaks to the issues of the day, many of which, sadly, are issues we have been dealing with since the beginning of time. Most of what I think about right now is how so many things in the world are SO fucked up -- our political system is broken and corrupt...our earth is being destroyed by climate change...people are not treating each other with equality and respect... and I think- are we going to make it? Are we going to figure it out and fix it before it’s too late? Can we ever truly open our hearts and embrace love in all its beautiful forms? I think it’s still possible. I still have hope in humanity. I’m just trying to be a part of the discussion and encourage people to speak out for equality, to not be afraid to speak out for peace and love. All of us feel afraid at times in these absolutely insane times, but its important we speak our minds, cast our votes, and do not give in to fear and hatred." James also announced a slew of North American tour dates, including a Tuesday, December 6th stop at Showbox SoDo. [Pitchfork]

L.A. via Vancouver trio White Lung share a clip for the track "Sister" off their fourth release, Paradise, out now on Domino. Director Justin Gradin spoofs those old 1-800 late night ads with frontwoman Mish Barber-Way on the other line. Gradin says, "In a lonely world a man seeks to find love through his telephone. He discovers two women with whom he becomes obsessed with from their captivating and elegant conversations. In the end, these two women’s thrilling lives and escalating partying leave the man feeling isolated and rejected again. It’s basically a 90s chat line commercial on PCP." Watch below: [Spin]
