  • We’ve got more new music to share from Brooklyn-based duo Sleigh Bells (check out another single here). Stream the track “I Can Only Stare” below, from their forthcoming fourth full-length, Jessica Rabbit, out November 11th via Torn Clean/Sinderlyn. Founding member Derek E. Miller tells DJ Zane Lowe it’s his favorite track on the album, and also explains his crush on the animated character the album is named after. Listen below. • Just last week, we were raving over the perfect pairing of Kurt Vile and Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions on the track “Let Me Get There,” a single from the upcoming full-length, Until the Hunter. Today, we get the official video, directed by Sandoval herself. Neither she nor Vile appear in the clip, but you get some creepy cranium sculptures instead. Happy Halloween! Until the Hunter hits stores November 4th via Tendril Tales. [Consequence of Sound]

  • It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Chicago’s The Orwells, but today, they return with the single “Buddy,” their first new music since 2014’s Disgraceland. Stream it below. No release date yet, but the band promise a “big announcement” on their Facebook page. In the meanwhile, the guys make a Tuesday, November 15th stop at The Crocodile. [Consequence of Sound]

  • Anticipation is high for a new Gorillaz LP. So far, all we know is, it’ll be out in 2017, and will feature guest appearances from De La Soul and Snoop Dogg again. But, today, the band shared a multi-media story via social media about their fictional animated guitarist/keyboardist Noodle. (Musically, Noodle has been voiced by Miho Hatori of Cibo Matto and Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads.) The Book of Noodle (which has a kind-of Tintin vibe to it) follows her in the days after the attack on Plastic Beach, unveiled through animated gifs and pages of text. Check out the band’s Twitter and let the saga unfold. [Spin]
