The alias of Austin, TX-based musician Spencer Stephenson, Botany is a creator of transportive, free-flowing music that's carried by a strong psychedelic streak. Since his 2011 debut EP, Feeling Today, his sound has evolved from shimmery beats towards a more metaphysical sound that defies simple categorization. In anticipation of his third album, Deepak Verbera, that will be released by Western Vinyl Records on October 14th, Botany contributes an exclusive guest DJ mix filled with underground cerebral beats, abstract textures, and unpredictable grooves, an aesthetic that largely characterizes his own immersive sound.
